22th, Dec Ipad presentation

     Today was the last class in this year and we did Ipad free topic presentation. The first, I watched Misato's presentation. Her topic was about Sanrio, and she introduced the characters of Sanrio. Sanrio was invented in Japan but countries where each character was born were not in Japan. It was so interesting for me. For example, Hello Kitty, The famous character in Sanrio, is from the U.k.
     The second presenter was Makiko and she presented about Atsuto Uchida, a famous soccer player in Japan. She has many pictures and many interesting topic so I really enjoyed her presentation.
     The third, Iyo introduced Olympic. She studied it very much so I could understand about her topic.
     The last person I watched presentation was Sakurako. He presented about her home town, Fukuoka. It's Christmas season now, so she introduced many illuminated spots.
     This year, we learned how to presentation, so my last presentation is better than my first one, I think, but I still can't introducing about my topic watching listeners. I will practice more in order to be able to make a presentation more frequently.

15th. Dec About holidays

We studied three things in this class. The first, an usual, we asked some questions each other. Topic was "Holiday", especially, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Misato will get Otoshidama from her grand father next year. Kisato will eat KFC for Christmas dinner with her family. Yuka will have Christmas cake for Christmas with her boy friend in Fukuoka. I wish I were her. Kenta will have to work on Chistmas Day. He will work from morning to night. Hitomi will give a Christmas present for her junior high school friend. Kimika will travel to Kagoshima during winter vacation with her boy friend. Ikumi will eat temprasoba for New Year's. Ayako will visit a shrine named Izumi jinjya for New Year's.
The second, we watched the Chaplin's video, and explain story for my group members. It was so hard for me to tell the details because American Christmas was so different from Japanese one.
The last thing we did was learning American Christmas. we filled in the blanks reading the sentences. we also listened to the Christmas songs filling in the blanks.

8th. Dec The poster presentation

We explain about our survey " Christmas and New Year's Day" by using poster. This time was my first poster presentation so I was so nervous. we did presentation 4times, more presentation we did, the better introduction we could explain. The most difficult point was express the percentages or proportion because we hardly talk about them in a daily life. The good point of our presentation is that the poster is very simple. It helps watcher to understand information more clearly. On the other hand, the point is that I watched poster many times. I should have explain about survey watching listener.  After watching  presentation of other students, I noticed that some important points in the presentation. The first is that speaking or explaining loudly. When we watched certain group, we couldn't understand information clearly because their voice was little small. The Second point is the size and depth of a letter in the poster. These points relate whether the presentation is easy to see or not, I think. When I make a presentation next time, I will pay attention about these points.

1st, Dec. ipad presentation

I recoded at my presentations at audio boo watching my slides. At first, I was so nervous but I could tell quickly after a few times practicing. 3 minutes was shorter than I expected so I practiced hard.  Since the microphone didn't work when I recorded in the small voice, I learnt the importance of the loud voice.

17th. Nov and 24th. Nov second ipad presentaiton

I introduced to Berlin in Germany, and listened other presentations. Kotomi told us about New York in the U.S. Since she speak English frequently. I could understand about New York easily. She did presentation seeing us so I'm so interested in her presentation. Hitomi introduced us about Philadelphia in the U.S. The country is the same us Kotomi but contents are very different from hers. She mainly told us about foods. It made me so hungry! I learnt what is a good presentation watching other.
After ipad presentation, we found the classified total of our group survey about Christmas and New Year's Day. I was very surprised at results of others because they are very different from mine.

My friend

His name is John. He is my high school friend. You may think he is older than us but he is the same age as me. He was a good tennis player and he had many fans when he was a high school student. I was the one of fans too. He was also good at cooking, and he made many kinds of cakes and candies for classmates every day. The reason why he is good at cookies is his parents are pastry chefs and he wants to be like them. I like his cookie is the best that I have ever had. Next week, we will hold an alumni meeting, so I'm looking forward to meeting him and eating his cakes and candies!

20th Nov Friends

Yuka has a very neat friend named Mai Sakamoto in PUK.
Makiko has a very messy friend although she can't tell us her name.
Hitomi is Natsumi's friends who is always late.
Ayumi has a friend who likes to drink. Her name is Ai. She is Ayumi's high school student.
Ayako has a friend who can never wake up early. Her friend's name is Ai. She is a PUK student.
Hitomi has a friend who likes sports. Her name is Mai. She likes dancing.
Sakurako is Mai's friend who lives alone.
Kana has had a fight with her friends because of her book.
Kisato has a friend who has a pet. Her name is Chihiro In PUK and she has a turtle.
Kotomi has a friend who has a bad habit. Her name is Rina and her bad habit is drinking too much.

27th. Oct About you

Ayumi has written a letter to her host family in the U.K.
Natsumi has travelled in Korea.
Kimika is studying German now.
Ayako has an older brother. He is 22 years old.
Mai has broken her pinkie finger when she was a high school student.
Iyo didn't breakfast this morning because she has no time to eat.
Yuuki likes to drink Japanese sake. His favorite is Kenbishi.
Kenta doesn't like natto because he hates everything of it especially smells.

20th. Oct Restaurants

Yuuki has been to a restaurant within the past two weeks with his club friends.
Ayako doesn't like fast food restaurants because she thinks its food is not healthy.
Yuka likes Japanese restaurants better than Western ones.
Stir- fried rice wrapped in an omelette is Saori's favorite dish.
Abashi is Kana's favorite curry restaurant.
Natsumi has gone on a date to a spaghetti restaurant.
Kenta has bee to an expensive restaurant. It is Royal Host.
Misato has gone with friends to an izakaya. She drank fruity drink there.
Mai Sakamoto knows a good cheap restaurant. It is Hanamaru Udon.

My first presentation

What I think the comments from classmates

I thought that my slides were simple to show who I am, so I had to put more pictures the first slide and the last one. While presentation, I should have looked at everyone and spoken more loudly. Although I was satisfied with my first presentation, I found that I had to improve my presentation after reading comments by everyone.

The good thing is putting many pictures, so I will put many pictures next presentation.

Considering watchers, I should make my slides more colorful.

Advice
Misato hates studying. so, I advised he to stop studying.
Hitomi doesn't have enough money, so I advised to her to work more.
Mai has a messy room. My advise is to throw the things she don't need.
Kenta doesn't have a girl friend. I advised him to join the party.
Kisato has some problems with her friend. I think that she should try to understand her mind.
Ayako is worried about the interview test. My advice is practicing more.
Kna often sleeps in class, so I advised her to drink coffee before class.

especially, I can change slides easily and because ipad is small, it is easy to carry.
Although I have never used ipad for presentation before, I can use it easily.

Yuka has traveled by ferry. She has traveled Osaka by using it. Misato would like to go camping for vacation. Ayako will have club practice during vacation. She belongs to a football club.

Atuko likes tall man and so do I. Yuki thinks glasses are very attractive and women who wear glasses are nice. Natumi has worn a uniform for a part time job. She works at KFC. Ayako likes second-hand clothes. She has bought a skirt at the recycle shop. Iyo thinks long hair is attractive. She has a long hair. Kimika is wearing some jewelry from her boy friend.  Makiko knows a man with a pierced ear. Her high school friend has a pierced ear. Yuka has had a haircut in the past two weeks. She cut his front hair. It looks nicer than before, I think.

Iyo has a microwave. She uses it every day because she live alone. Kimika lives in an apartment which name is Apple house. She lives there alone. Kisato lives at home. I live near her home.

Hobbies and Sports (p. 16)

I find many people who have hobbies and Sports. Ayumi belongs to brass band club. She act there 3 times a week. She chose this club because she loves playing the musical instrument. I yo has a part time job. She works at the cake shop 3 hours a day and 4 times a week. Saori also has a part time job. She works at the Yakiniku restaurant 4 hours a day and 4 times a week. Yuka has a hobby. Her hobby is going to the concert. She usually uses 10000 yen for this hobby because she has to buy a concert ticket and she buys some goods about singers.

Friend (pp. 14-15)

Hitomi has a very neat firiend. Her name is Yuho who goes to this university. I also find who has very messy friend. Atuko's high school friend seems to be messy. Misato's high school friend is always late. Kimika has a friend who likes to drink. Her circle member likes to drink. Ayako has friend who can never wake up early. Ai can never wake up early.Mai likes sports who is Saori's friend. Yuka has a friend who lives alone. That is Keiko who go to this university. Yuka lives by herself too.  Mai has had a fight with a friend. Makiko has a friend who has a pet. Her high school friend dose.

At the next time, we wrote about our best friend and then, we introduce them. I introduce Yuka's best friend. her best friend is cute and tall and has a short hair. She always smile. Her good points are she is very kind and talkative person. Yuka met her when they are elementary school students.

Animals (pp. 11-12)

I found some who has a pet. Atuko has two dogs whose name are Reon and Kai. Makiko has eaten wild boar's meat. I have never eaten it, so I want to try it. Ayako has a pet fish. She has golden fish. Yuka has a pet smaller than a cat. She has a golden fish and turtle. Kisato thinks koalas are cute. I think there is no one who doesn't think they are cute. Mai likes cats more than dogs. Natsumi wants her child to have a pet. She has a dog so she wants their babies.  Saori has been to farm. She has been to Milk bokujyo in Aso. I couldn't find some one who has never been to the zoo. I think that is because most people has been there as school trip.

 We played bingo. we wrote numbers of the animals in the box, and then, one person thinks of an animal and I ask questions to find out what the animal is.

What students do (p. 9)

 Hitomi has watched videos with friends. She watched Harry Potter with her friend. She also read Harry Potter. I have borrowed it from her. Yuka has cooked "Omu-rice"at her house because she lives in kumamoto alone. She has gone to a karaoke box with her friends. She usually sing songs by Ikimonogakari who is Japanese singer. Mai has played ball games, especially basketball. Makiko has gone to the movie. She watched Harry Potter with her friend. It seems like Harry Potter in very popular among my class. Misaso has traveled somewhere outside of Kyusyu. She has traveled Tokyo with her family. Natsumi had an broken bone. She broke her arm when she was 5 years old. Kimika has had a datw at Hikarinomori with her boy friend.

Family (pp. 5-6)

We asked some questions each other about family at first. Ayako has a brother at university. Her brother is older than she and he was a university student but he didn't go to this university. Mai has an exciting or dangerous job. I found that Mai's father worked at s power station. The person who has a relatives living overseas is Hitomi. Hitomi's uncle and aunt lived in America. Ayumi has a brother or sister in high school.  Atsuko knew something about their great great grand parents. Yuuki has had a fight with his brother many times.

We interviewed my classmates about their relatives. I told my partners about my Grand mother and my brother. My grand mother is smaller than me. and She is so fashionable and has a glasses. My brother is tall and thin. He is a high school student.

Fruits and Vegetables (P. 2~4)

We asked some questions about fruits or vegetables each other. If I found some one who answers yes to my question, I wrote her or his name in the blank. Natsumi has been fruit picking. She has picked oranges and strawberry. Yuka has eaten mangoes which is an exotic fruit because she is from Miyazaki. Makiko hates tomato and neither do I!  Hitomi loves oranges. I asked other people too.

We answered the quiz about fruits or vegetables. One people decided one fruit or vegetable and then the rest people asked his or her about it. For example "How big it is?", "What shape is it?" or anything.

At page 4, we made pairs and we made new fruits and vegetables. In my group, we made "Water apple" which is made of water melon and apple. A good point is very sweet but it looks strange.

BR1-12: The Fireboy

" You can go home to your father. But..." "But?" asks Hapu. "But from today, The two of you work only for me. Do you understand?" (p. 15)

This story told me about importance of doing my best. Hapu was poor and his father too. Although they worked very hard to earn money, they couldn't make a lot of money. Their wish was being rich. One day, the bad thing happened. Hapu's father fell on the ground! Without his father, he couldn't work. But he tried his best! He decided to make a beautiful necklace for Queen Cleopatra because he thought rich people gave him a lot of money. After doing his best, he got a lot of money and a job only for Queen Cleopatra, so he and his father became very rich. Doing best gave him happiness! This book is not so long and you can easy to read, please read it!

BR1- 11: The Wrong Man

I have never read manga written in English so I was really enjoyed reading this book. This story is about a killer in Australia. This story is complicated and it's hard for me to understand but this book style is manga so manga style helps me to read stories. My favorite sentence is the scene after finding the killer. When Steve comes back to his hotel room, he met Sally in his room! He thinks that she is a rude woman because she enters his room without asking him when he met her at the first time. But she just helps him to searching the killer. Thanks for her, He can catch the killer. They seem to love each other end of the story. Please read it!

You like cheese? No, I don't like it. (p. 6)

This sentence is in the story named "cheese!" in the book named Six Sketches. As you notice, there are some short stories in this book. The each story is very short so everyone can understand stories very easily. That's a Good point in this book. I will introduce my favorite story in this book now. My favorite story is "Cheese!" because I was very impressed by it. One day, Mr. Smith asked man if he liked cheese- because this man bought cheese everyday- but he said he didn't like it. The reason why he always bought cheese is not to be nervous for everyone. He was a photographer and he wanted everyone to smile. If he showed cheese someone who he wanted to take a picture, he would say "cheese" and smile. I was very interested in this story! If you read this book, I lend it for you.

There are two people in this picture. The left side is a man and the right side is a woman. They look each other. They seem to be dancing. The woman who wears a stripe dress ties back her hair and has a curling bans and puts on earrings. Her sleeve is wide like a triangle. She puts her left hand on the man’s shoulder and he puts his hand towards her waist. The man wears the suit and has a mustache. He looks at her smiling. He has a straight- back hairstyle.

I was very impressed by this sentence because. This story is about the man whose job is taking picture from Japan. I think this story is good but it's different from a  real Japanese situation because the writer of this book is not a Japanese.For example, Japanese bad man rarely use guns and the people in this book looks little strange though I can't tell how to different from real, something is strange. Except for these points, I think this story is very good. Ken is a happy man because he lives in the country with his a wife and a son. He works hard for them and loves them too. This book has a dangerous scene but it's very exciting! Please read it!

BR1- 08: The Gift of the Magi and Other Stories

And now they are going to have a happy Christmas because they understand about special gifts. (p.4)

This book has five stories. There are happy stories and sad stories in it. My favorite sentence which I chose is in the story of The Gift of the Magi. I have this story a few time before and I love it! When I was a 12 or 13 years old, I read this story at KUMON and I like it since then. I also read this story in my junior high school. Considering other people is good but it's not easy to do, I think but Della and Jim did. I think that the most important gift for them is "love".  Even if they have no money, they are happy because they love each other. I was very impressed. Other stories have many good points! Please read this book!

BR1- 07: The Long Road

Today, there are Terry Fox Runs around the world. (p. 15)

                                   I was very impressed by this book. Although Terry Fox had a cancer and his condition was bad, he ran to get money for poor people. His right leg was an artificial leg.  To run across Canada was very hard for healthy people but he had only left leg. Though his right leg had a pain, he didn't go to a hospital. Although he couldn't finish running acroos Canada, everyone was impressed by him.

BR1-06: The Missing Coins

'Give Pete the stamps from South America,' She says. (p. 15)

I chose this sentence as my favorite one because Carla knew that Pete wanted the stamps from South America which is too expensive to buy but he couldn't.  She loves him and he also loves her. She is a very clever girl because she could find a person who stole the coins. This story has some good points but I don't like it because it is a little gloomy story for me. It, however, is easy to read and convenience to study English, I think. There is a man who plays the flute so I remenber the time when I had played the flute. This man in this book is a very important person. If you are interested in this book, try to read!

BR1-05: The Leopard and the Lighthouse

"Tell us the story of the leopard and the lighthouse," say the children. (p. 15)

The reason why I chose this sentence as my favorite is this means happy ending, I think. Thanks for Leopard, Saied could get married with Tanza. Because many men on Sindi are in love with her, all of them wanted to get married with her. Of course, Saied wanted to do so. She is a beautiful daughter of the head man of Sindi. He said to everyone that the man who caught the leopard could marry Tanza. All man except for Saied couldn't catch it but he could! If you want to know how Saied catch the leopard, you should read this book!

The best friend

I will explain about my and Mai's best friends.

The First is about my friend. Her appearance is small and she has a long hair. Putting on her shoes from right foot to left foot is her habits. She is an optimistic person, it is her good point. I met her when I was a freshman. I have stayed at her house.

The second, I will talk about Mai's best friend. She has a bobbed hair and can sleep early. Her good points are kind, optimistic and funny. She met her best friend, when she was a high school student. A memorable experience with her is Sports festival in her high school.

BR1-04: Hannah and the hurricane

Hannah was sixteen and lived on an island. She was on holiday from school and was working for Mr. Duval on his glass- bottomed boat. They took people to look at the beautiful fish and the coral reef under the sea. His boat was the only grass-bottomed boat on the island. One day, the new boat was taking people out to look at the coral reef, and there are people waiting for it to come back. Then, Hannah found out the reason why people didn't ride on Mr. Duval's boat. The reason is that riding on the new boat is cheaper than riding his boat. The richest man on the island had the new boat. His name was Max Marker. The two weeks went by. She lost her job because Mr. Duval's boat had no guests. Then, Max said to Mr. Duval that if he sold his boat, Max gave him a good price for it. Of course, he declined. The next morning Mr. Duval went to his boat and saw that it was under the water! It was the Max's work. That day, because the hurricane is coming, she wanted to go his house to fight him but she couldn't. After the hurricane went on, She went to the Max's house to see him. She found the some of his house was gone, and he was inside the house! She helped him. Although he said he paid some money to her but she declined and she said to him to stop his nasty game!

BR1-03: Flying Home

"It's my family!" Then he flies into the sky. (p. 15)

Felix was a blue and yellow bird from Brazil and he lived with the Baxter family in New York. The big cage which he lived was on the fortieth floor of a tall building. He liked the Baxters and they liked him but he was not happy because he wanted to go home to Brazil. One day, he flied out of his cage and out of the window. He traveled for a long time, and crossed the Atlantic Ocean, Peru and Rio. When he got to Rio, he met a bird named Aca and know about the jungle very well. On the way to the jungle, he was caught by a man but Aca helped him. Finally he arrived the jungle and met his family! If you are interested in this book, please read it!

My favorite animals

     Cats are my favorite animals because I like the character named "Hello Kitty". Kitty is very cute and goods of it is also cute. I have a lot of goods. My ear bud and schedule note are my favorite goods. When I was a child, I don't like cats but now I like it because of "Hello Kitty".
     I don't have a cat so I would like to have a cat someday!

My treasure

This is my flute. It is my treasure. When I was twelve years old, My grandfather bought it for me because I became a member of the school brass band. I had played it for six years until I graduated from high school. When I started playing the flute, there were many people who wanted to join the flute section. If I wanted to join the flute part, I had to have the flute. Fortunately, my neighbor loaned me her flute so I could enter the flute section. However there was one problem and that was that my flute which my neighbor had loaned me is too old to play. I learned this after I entered the flute section so I had to buy the new one. Although I could have borrowed a flute from my school brass band, I couldn’t because I needed to have own flute to play the flute in my school brass band. Because of this, my grandfather bought me a flute because he really likes music. Thanks for my grandfather, I stared playing the flute.

              I had played many songs in those for six years. I practiced everyday. I had entered competitions with my brass band members and my flute. Whenever I played songs, I used my flute. I had the time when I didn’t want to play the flute and go to the brass band club but once I got to the brass band practice and played my flute, I could enjoy playing it! I had gone through many things, even bad things with my flute. My flute told me not only to enjoy the music but also to bear up. There was the time when I didn’t want to practice songs but my flute had me practice them. My flute helped me to make personal progress.

I don’t have time to play my flute anymore, but if I have a chance to play it, I want to play many songs using my flute.

I have never dance in Zumba in this song but I like Lady gaga's songs very much!
I would like to dance in this song someday!

There are two stories in this book. I will tell you about the first story. The first story is about painting. the sentence on the top is in this story. One day, when Bunny was painting, Jack asked her to paint him but she said no because she thought he couldn't sit still. He persuaded her to paint him. At first, he sat on the chair quietly, gradually, he wanted scratch his nose. When he watched her picture, his face in it is so funny because he managed to put up with scratch. The second story is funny too! please read it if you are interested in!

Let me introduce myself. I live in Kumamoto with my family and have a younger brother and he is a high school student. I’m nineteen years old and a sophomore student at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto. I major in English literature. I study it to be an English teacher. It looks like aerobics but ZUMBA is harder than aerobics. I take in a ZUMBA class once a week with my mother. While I’m doing ZUMBA, I can forget everything except dance. What are you interested in? If you are interested in Japan, I can tell you about things here.

By the way, what is the most famous place in Australia? I think the Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous places there. Although I’ve been to Australia before, I’ve never visited it so I really want to go there. I would also like to visit “Ayers Rock” too. I heard it is a sacred ground for Aborigines.

What is the popular food from July to August? We usually eat Kakigoori to avoid the heat because from July to August is summer in Japan. Kakigoori is an ice cream in Japanese style but the appearance and texture are different. It is made of shaved ice. We eat it with syrup.  Ujikintoki is my best. It is one of Kakigoori flavors and it uses a syrup which tastes like green tea and adzuki-bean on the top. How about Australia? See you soon.

I listened Ayako and Iyo's stories.

A yako talked about her twin cousins. Their names are Yukako and Kanako. Yukako is an active girl but Kanako is a quiet girl. They have opposing characteristics. Their looks are different because they are fraternal twins. They are second grades of junior high school. They are cute and pretty and the same height.

Iyo talked about her cousin. She is a 33-year-old woman and she is very beautiful. Her height is 160cm and she is thin. She is a realty dealer. She likes collecting cosmetics. She is very kind to everyone.

But most of all the small pug likes to sit down and sink down in good, soft mud.(p.7)

This book is about the small pig he likes sitting down and sinking down in good, soft mud. One day, because famer’s wife cleaned the pigpen and the soft mud, the small pig run away to look for the soft mud. He walked for few days and finally he found the soft mud!! But it was strange. The next day, It was not very soft at all. In fact, it is getting harder and harder. He tried to get up, but he could not move! Many people came there to see him! What should he do!?!?
