Dear host family,
Hello! I’m Mio E. I’m looking forward to staying in your home in Australia. Thank you for being my host family.
Let me introduce myself. I live in Kumamoto with my family and have a younger brother and he is a high school student. I’m nineteen years old and a sophomore student at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto. I major in English literature. I study it to be an English teacher. I’m interested in listening and playing music especially foreign music. I usually listen “Paparazzi” of Lady Gaga. I also love Justin Bieber and Beyonce. I can play the flute and piccolo because when I was a junior and high school student, I was a member of school brass band. I’m interested in ZUMBA too. Do you know it? It looks like aerobics but ZUMBA is harder than aerobics. I take in a ZUMBA class once a week with my mother. While I’m doing ZUMBA, I can forget everything except dance. What are you interested in? If you are interested in Japan, I can tell you about things here.
By the way, what is the most famous place in Australia? I think the Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous places there. Although I’ve been to Australia before, I’ve never visited it so I really want to go there. I would also like to visit “Ayers Rock” too. I heard it is a sacred ground for Aborigines.
What is the popular food from July to August? We usually eat Kakigoori to avoid the heat because from July to August is summer in Japan. Kakigoori is an ice cream in Japanese style but the appearance and texture are different. It is made of shaved ice. We eat it with syrup. Ujikintoki is my best. It is one of Kakigoori flavors and it uses a syrup which tastes like green tea and adzuki-bean on the top. How about Australia? See you soon.
Sincerely
Mio
